April 18, 2006 E-Manifest; Data Availability & Request for Comment Read Full Rule Final
This notice announces the availability of additional information on the e-manifest project. Following EPA’s proposal to develop a nearly paperless electronic manifest system, the Office of Solid Waste held a 2-day public meeting to discuss the system and get stakeholders’ input on implementing the system. As a result, EPA is now considering a centralized, national e-manifest system. This notice outlines EPA’s findings and requests comments. Comments must be received on or before

This final rule amends the HMR for the transport of hazardous materials by air. The rule clarifies the applicability of Part 175; clarifies certain exceptions from regulation; revises separation distances for the shipment of radioactive materials by cargo aircraft; and updates the regulations to comply with security requirements for explosive special permits

This proposed rule amends the HMR by revising and consolidating the requirements applicable to: ICAO’s Technical Instructions for the Safe Transport of Dangerous Goods by Air; IMDG Code; Canadian Transport of Dangerous Goods Regulations; and IAEA Safety Standards Series: Regulations for the Safe Transport of Radioactive Material. The revision & reformatting provide a more user-friendly format to promote understanding of the conditions and limitations on the use of international standards.
