The Training is designed to meet the requirements for:
TRANSPORTATION - 29 CFR
U.S. & State Departments of Transportation (Section 172.700, 49 CFR)
State and Federal DOT regulations require each shipper, generator, carrier, and transporter to instruct and test all company officials, employees, or agents on the applicable hazardous materials regulations pertaining to their job functions and contact with hazardous materials and substances on a triennial basis.

All attendees must have a copy of the current IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations at the class. Attendees may bring their own copy or we can provide one for an additional fee (See Pricing in Drop-Down Registration Menu).
PREREQUISITES
Attendees must have the following:
Attended an IATA Dangerous Goods training course in the past 2 years; OR
Attended the Transportation Skills Programs’ Hazardous Materials & Waste Management Training, Testing & Compliance Seminar
(or equivalent) in the past 2 yrs.
NOTE: THIS COURSE IS NOT DESIGNED FOR THOSE NEW EMPLOYEES WITH NO HAZMAT TRAINING.
ALSO, WE DO NOT COVER RADIOACTIVE, EXPLOSIVES, OR LITHIUM BATTERIES.
2-Day DOT, IATA & IMDG Seminar schedule:
Day One:
Hours = 1 to 2: Introduction, Classification and Identification of DOT Hazardous Materials, OSHA Substances and EPA Wastes, Primary and Subsidiary Hazard Classes, Packing Groups, and Use of the DOT 49 CFR 172.101 Hazardous Materials Table.
Hours = 3 to 4: Packaging Requirements, “Appendix A” Reportable Quantities, “Appendix B” Marine Pollutants and Special Provisions. Shipping Papers and Waste Manifests, Marking, Labeling, and Placarding.
